Fun Run 2022

On the last day of Term 1, CGGS had their annual Fun Run. Every student in the school, in every age group, was required to participate.

Though everyone had to run, the year 11s and 12s had the option to walk. Many of the seniors accessorized with pink – there were lots of tutus. Even facing the rain, all the seniors kept going. While only few ran compared to walking, Maddie and Paige took costumes to the next level, powering through, in inflatable suits! These seniors surprisingly ran more easily than expected, especially being in suits that were basically balloons. One of the girls’ suits deflated, but they kept going, showing true house spirit. They said they were there to, “Have fun, and be embarrassing,”.

In the youngest age group, Talei led her fellow peers to the finish line. Talei placed 1st in her age group, “I wanted to win it for my house,”.

Talei says she had help from Deakin to give her motivation to cross the finish line. “It was challenging, and I like a challenge,”.

Following not so far behind, was Annika, placing 5th in her age group. Annika knew she was close to the end, but couldn’t stop running. “I tried to stop, but I kept going,”.

Despite the rain, everyone kept cheering and supporting each other. Even though it wasn’t the best Fun Run, it was close enough to a complete success.
